recycled polyester
Polyester is basically plastic, which is made from petroleum. Recycled polyester is typically made from recycled plastic bottles. It’s still plastic (which takes decades to break down, and even then just becomes tiny little microfibers, which is a whole other problem), but it does reduce our dependency on nonrenewable fossil fuels.
Recycled polyester production uses less water and energy and emits less CO2 than virgin polyester. So hey, it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better!

In this case, we mean: Garment workers in the UK and China were paid a fair wage for fair working hours. Factories don’t allow child labor, forced labor, or unsafe working conditions. This brand delivers most of their products by sea (which emits less CO2) and purchases carbon offsets when they do deliver by air. They also donate a portion of profits to the Malala Fund. Garments are digitally printed, which reduces energy, water, and waste (compared to conventional printing methods).
