recycled polyester

Polyester is basically plastic, which is made from petroleum. Recycled polyester is typically made from recycled plastic bottles. It’s still plastic (which takes decades to break down, and even then just becomes tiny little microfibers, which is a whole other problem), but it does reduce our dependency on nonrenewable fossil fuels.

Recycled polyester production uses less water and energy and emits less CO2 than virgin polyester. So hey, it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better!

WHEN YOU SAY “ETHICAL”...

In this case, we mean: Garment workers were paid a fair wage for fair working hours, and this brand plans to implement living wages by 2025. Factories don’t allow child labor or forced labor. The brand publicly lists all suppliers and a code of conduct and has set science-based targets (legit plans for reducing their greenhouse gas emissions)
