recycled polyester/nylon
Polyester and nylon are both basically plastic, which is made from petroleum. Recycled polyester or nylon is typically made from recycled plastic bottles. It’s still plastic (which takes decades to break down, and even then just becomes tiny little microfibers, which is a whole other problem), but it does reduce our dependence on nonrenewable fossil fuels.
Recycled polyester/nylon production uses less water and energy and emits less CO2 than virgin. So hey, it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better!
WHEN YOU SAY “ETHICAL”...
In this case, we mean: Garment workers were paid a fair wage
for fair working hours. Factories don’t allow child labor, forced labor, or unsafe working conditions.
