RECYCLED COTTON
Recycled cotton comes from either post-industrial or post-consumer cotton waste that would otherwise probably end up incinerated or landfilled (think: scraps from a garment factory, or clothes that don’t sell at thrift stores).
Since no new cotton has to be grown, recycled cotton takes much less water to produce than conventionally grown cotton. It also has a lower impact when it comes to CO2 emissions, water pollution, and chemical use.
When present, GRS recycled fiber certification tells us that the content is truly recycled (no greenwashing here!) and that certain restricted chemicals weren’t used in the production process. Plus, it ensures that workers’ rights were protected.
